Has the Holocaust replaced Calvary at the Christian festival of Easter?

Guest essay by Eric Worrall

Psychology Today author Patricia Prijatel thinks the silence of Germans oppressed by the NAZIs is comparable to not talking about the alleged dangers of anthropogenic climate change.

“What happened here was the gradual habituation of the people, little by little, to being governed by surprise; to receiving decisions deliberated in secret; to believing that the situation was so complicated that the government had to act on information which the people could not understand, or so dangerous that, even if the people could understand it, it could not be released because of national security. And their sense of identification with Obama, their trust in him, made it easier to widen this gap and reassured those who would otherwise have worried about it.”

Thanks for the improved translation of Goebbels’s April 29, 1942 diary sentence, which is a challenge to translators. I don’t necessarily accept the translation of “ausrotten,” but that’s a whole separate controversy. Meantime, your translation of “müssen daran glauben” was helpful, along with the rest of the sentence unacceptably telescoped by Lochner.

Your translation seems to omit a “for” after “pay,” but the omission doesn’t mislead. A typo, I’d say.

The “short shrift” translation of the preceding sentence is wrong, too. It should be “dealt with summarily” or the like.

Your commentary on Dalton’s intentions and agenda merely betray your own, contrary biases. You’d gain credibility (and conciseness) to omit such expostulations in the future. Let your material speak for itself.

Actually it’s no controversy at all. “Ausrotten” people means to exterminate people, period.

Meantime, your translation of “müssen daran glauben” was helpful, along with the rest of the sentence unacceptably telescoped by Lochner.

Funny that you consider Lochner’s translation “unacceptable” but seem to have no problem with Mr. “Dalton”‘s outrageous mistranslation. After checking behind your handle I’m no longer surprised, however.

Your translation seems to omit a “for” after “pay,” but the omission doesn’t mislead. A typo, I’d say.

Yeah, there should be a “for” after the “pay”. I’ll edit it accordingly and credit you for the correction.

The “short shrift” translation of the preceding sentence is wrong, too. It should be “dealt with summarily” or the like.

“Short shrift” is OK, in my opinion.

Your commentary on Dalton’s intentions and agenda merely betray your own, contrary biases.

Nonsense. One doesn’t need biases to recognize and expose a biased propagandist’s agenda.

You’d gain credibility (and conciseness) to omit such expostulations in the future. Let your material speak for itself.

Considering who this advice comes from, I’m not inclined to take it seriously, for the author of this advice has no more credibility in my eyes than Mr. “Dalton”.

Lorenzetti’s The Effects of Bad Government fresco has not been written on as extensively as The Effects of Good Government, partly due to the worse condition of this fresco. The wall on which the fresco of The Effects of Bad Government is depicted used to be an exterior wall, so has suffered much moisture damage in the past. When the viewer turns to examine this mural, they are confronted with a devious looking figure adorned with horns and fangs, and appearing to be cross-eyed. This figure is identified as TYRAMMIDES (Tyranny). He sits enthroned, resting his feet upon a goat (symbolic of luxury), and in his hand he sinisterly holds a dagger.

Allegory of Bad Government

Below the tyrant the captive figure of Justice lies bound, while the figures of Cruelty, Deceit, Fraud, Fury, Division, and War flank him, and above him float the figures of Avarice, Pride, and Vainglory. These figures, according to an advice book for city magistrates of the time, were considered to be the “leading enemies of human life”.[15]The planets of Jupiter, Saturn, and Mars preside over this scene, as they were the less favorable planets; also included are tyrannical figures such as the Roman Emperor Nero. When we look at the scene of the city itself, it appears to be very jarring; nothing fits as it should be. This is in part to the fact that Lorenzetti presented the scene in such a manner that the viewer must read it right to left, automatically creating a sense of discomfort. When we look at the scene, we see that the city is in ruin, windows are wide open, houses are being demolished, and businesses are nonexistent, except that of the armourer. The streets are deserted, and the country side shows two armies advancing towards each other. The whole scene shows the mirror opposite of that of The Effects of Good Government, creating a powerful reminder to the council.

Open Letter to Nick Kollerstrom on the Auschwitz Death Books

Author: Hans Metzner

Dear Nick,

We (that is me) are glad to hear that you have expressed your commitment for free speech and against “arresting people for their beliefs”, and trust that this is not limited to your own beliefs but meant universally, also applying to, say for example, denial of crimes committed against Germans.

We entirely support the concern that spreading historical claims should not be punished in an open society – and would like to add – also when these are utterly absurd, offensive to members of the society and mainly a vehicle of political extremism (such as Holocaust denial).

But let’s switch gears and address your remarks on the Auschwitz death books expressed in that letter to Vladimir Putin.

  1. The Auschwitz death books are incomplete and no record exists for 1944 and 1945. Your statement that the Soviets “seized all of its ‘death books’ with the records of all persons who had died there” is misleading/incorrect.
  2. It can be shown by documentary evidence (corroborated by numerous testimonial evidence) that causes of death in the certificates have been falsified by the SS, namely that unnatural deaths have been camouflaged as natural one’s. But then any cause of natural death given in these records (at least since 1942) is a priori doubtful and requires external corroboration to be taken for granted.Hence, your statement that the death record “does not record them [the Jews] as having been murdered” is not questioning, let aside rebutting that any Jews have been murdered in Auschwitz.
  3. The unrealistic decline of Jewish deaths in 1943 compared to the non-Jewish indicates that most of the former were not entered into the records anymore after February 1943 and that the death records for this year have to be considered unreliable with respect to the number of deaths among registered Jewish prisoners, and you are well aware of this argument.
  4. Jewish people killed directly after their arrival without prior registration in the camp books were not entered into the death records. This can be shown again by documentary evidence. On 21 and 24 January 1943, 3.383 Jews considered unfit for work were “specially lodged” in Auschwitz. The term was a variant of “special treatment” (see telex from Heinrich Schwarz to SS-WVHA of 5 March 1943), which in turn was an euphemism at the concentration camp administrations for unnatural deaths without judicial decision. However, the death books contain only 2.841 Jewish deaths for the entire months January 1943. Therefore, it is clear that Jews selected as unfit for work at the ramp and killed after their arrival without registration in the camp books were not registered in the death books either, even when this was still practiced for the deaths among registered Jews.

In summary, the death books do not allow any conclusion on the total number of Jews ceased in Auschwitz concentration camp complex nor that Jews were not murdered there.

Putin Letter

Please forgive my delay in replying.
You start by averring that Revisionism (which you call Holocaust denial) is ‘a vehicle of political extremism.’ Au contraire, as my new book makes crystal-clear http://www.BreakingTheSpell.co.uk Revisionism is a quest for historical exactitude, and is not politically motivated. It may have political consequences but that is a secondary affair. It is the quest for historical truth which is the sacred thing: on which our future well-being may depend.

1. Yes the Death-books, seized by the Soviets when they liberated Auschwitz and finally published in the 1990s, are incomplete. The Soviets did presumably seize all of these books that they could find. If you want a more careful phrasing of this matter, see my book Breaking the spell The Holocaust Myth and Reality, p.81-84 Let’s agree that some proportion of inmates were not registered, and possibly they died without having death-records. I used the figure of 10% as given by the British intelligence decrypts although I appreciate you might wish to have a far higher figure.(See October 1942 decrypt, http://www.whatreallyhappened.info/decrypts/hw16_65_zip_os3_29.10.42.html :‘about 2,000 men in the total are always unaccounted for’)

2. You say that cause-of-death reports have been falsified. I’m merely saying that both the Arolsen Archives and the Death Books of Au show a lot of trouble to report the causes of death, at great length, and not one single one anywhere has death by gassing or by cyanide – just as nobody in any German labour-camp reported seeing a bright shocking pink body, which is what results from death by cyanide. I have simply stated a fact, that these death records do not report the murder of any ethnic group eg Jews: which is correct. Inmates were shot at Auschwitz, if they tried to escape. The decrypts make that clear.

3. concerning the (mysterious) decline in reported Jewish deaths in 1943 (see here http://www.whatreallyhappened.info/decrypts/Death_Certs_IMH_Auschwitz_Charts.html) you aver that this ‘indicates’ that most Jewish deaths were not being recorded. That is mere conjecture on your part, which I try to avoid. You CANNOT SHOW any authentic Nazi document suggesting that such selective non-reporting was taking place.

4. No it cannot be shown! I challenge you to do this. Its just an unverifiable phantasm, that hordes of Jews were gassed-on-arrival without being registered.

Concerning your next paragraph, many Jews unfit for work were lodged at Birkenau camp rather that Auschwitz. Your hunch that ‘specially lodged’ was a code for extermination is again a mere pipedream: that is not the way to do history. The ‘Special treatment’ here alluded to the preocedure, instigated in the summer of 1942 whereby all new arrivals were shaved, had their clothing removed and deloused, and showered, and it worked: slowly the dreadful mortality from the typhus epidemics were brought under control.

Your last paragraph assumes what you are trying to prove, that because ‘only’ 2841 Jewish deaths were reported, that ‘therefore’ jews selected as unfit for work were being exterminated. I believe You cannot produce any Nazi document to support this.

reblogged this interesting discussion. When I was about 8 years Old I lived in Hanover Then West Germany 1969-1975 I was born in 1964. Father was attached to the BAOR. We visited Belsen and it had a profound effect on me and still does to this day.

I remember the Photographs and the Mounds of mass graves I also recall very keenly the News reports of the Soweto Riots in the late 1970’s by now we lived in Rural Oxfordshire near Upper Heyford the USAF strategic bombing base and lived near Barford St John Listening Station part of The Echelon Network Father also worked on the defence estate establishment site of Bletchley Park. I remember Protest Graffiti about Vietnam along the Oxford Rs just past Upper Heyford.

It seemed to me then and now that the lessons I thought Belsen must have taught us about war had not been learned.

Quiggleys words.p.232 tragedy and Hope.

´´but criticism should have been directed rather at the hypocrisy and lack

of realism in the ideals of the wartime propaganda and at the lack of honesty of the chief negotiators in carrying on the pretense that these ideals were still in effect while they violated them daily, and necessarily violated them. The settlements were clearly made by secret negotiations, by the Great Powers exclusively, and by power politics. They had to be. No settlements could ever have been made on any other bases. The failure of the chief negotiators (at least the Anglo-Americans) to admit this is regrettable, but behind their

reluctance to admit it is the even more regrettable fact that the lack of political experience and political education of the American and English electorates made it dangerous for the negotiators to admit the facts of life in international political relationships.”

Lexit The Movie

There is a world of a difference between a Labour 2017 manifesto Brexit and a Tory ( Hard Brexit) The EU imposes Neo-Liberal polices on all of its member states, think of it as TTIP for the Single Market members. Austerity is written into the EU constitution by the dictates of the EU COmission and the European Central Bank.
As the UK Has Stirling the worst excesses of The EU Ultra Hayekian Economic Policies which Mr Schoebel and the rest of the EU ( Austerity fetishists) Worship fervently as it is their Ideological muse to do so. Was always a Political choice which was available and not taken by the Tories.
With Brexit Political Choices open up in the realms of Social Democracy outside of the present EU Neo-Liberal Regime, The Tories will understand this as well but of course, they are very keen to Keep the Magic Money Tree a secret by Laughing at the very notion of it.

This Current disagreement between “Progress” Blairites of the Neo-Liberal EU Idiocracy is a symptom of the withdrawal the Austerity Fetishist get when they can not dish out the Pain with the excuse of it’s in the rules.

To follow my Arguments does take a little effort, But The minimum effort required is to watch these three clips in the Lexit movie

pay particular attention to the Finnish Shipping Labour Law Case at 47 mins ( Viking Case, Estonian Flag of convenience). Or Train Privatisation in The EU at 16mins. Eu Austerity policies at 22mins.

Political Economy requires an overhaul both in the Uk and in the EU. The ECB and the EURO is probably democracies greatest threat in the Euro Zone, not Cambridge Analytica. State collection of data and marginalisation of dissenters is a default setting for the security state the digital age allows the State to do much more than it was technologically able to previously that this has been a state invented industry ripened and hived off for privatisation for Private sector Cronies should surprise no one.
May I ask you a question, Richard. Do you think the UK should Keep the Pound Stirling?
I live in Sweden and there seems very little chance of Sweden giving up the Kroner anytime soon, the Finnish experience has hardened Swedish views on this I think. Would the EU work better if Germany returned to the Deutch Mark indeed would Greece be in such a mess if it had maintained the Drachma?
A witty guy Called Derrick Wall once tweeted this. *Brexit an imaginary solution to real problems*
The EU has a huge democratic deficit The turnout in the June General election last year dumfounded the media which worked hard to secure a low turnout I suspect that is the aim with the current media narrative ahead of the May Local Elections.
Another Question. Which problems does one hope to solve and for whom by staying In or leaving the EU? From the EU perspective, which problems does the EU think it will solve by the EU remaining in the EU or what are the problems for the EU following a loss of UK membership?
Some topics for consideration.
1. Inequality, poverty and homelessness
2. Pension Provision/ Aging Population
3. MultiCulturalism v Immigration v refugees v enlargement/encroachment Russian Federation Sphere of Influence
4. Brics/ Washington Consensus Dichotomy.
5. Energy Cliff in EROEI Terms Oil/Gas/Coal/Nuclear/Hydro/Wind/Solar etc.
6. Debt Based or Energy/Carbon-Based Currency intra-European/ International Trade?
If one were to prepare a report card and grade any set of Political or Business elites under the above headings regardless of affiliation no one gets a pass. The political obsession with confusing Symptoms for causes characterises the Debate on Brexit it’s much wider than Brexit
to repeat Dereck again
Brexit Imaginary Solution to real problems!

Skripal down the memory Hole, Mass Surviellance and Who Fucked Aunty

“aide-memoire” from the Russian Foreign Ministry “to clarify the state of affairs” in the ‘Skripal case’

This is the text of an “aide-memoire” on the Skripal case, issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, 21 March 2018. It’s a reasonable summary of the state of play thus far and helps us to understand the Russian perspective on

1. On 12 March 2018, Prime Minister of Great Britain Theresa May, addressing the House of Commons, said it was “highly likely” that the Russian Federation was responsible for the poisoning of former GRU colonel, double agent Sergei Skripal and his daughter Yulia Skripal on 4 March 2018 in Salisbury, with a nerve agent identified according to British classification as A-234.
The United Kingdom has publicly raised a question about Russia’s “concealing” and “using” part of its chemical arsenal, thus alleging that Russia has “violated” its obligations under the Convention on the Prohibition of the Development, Production, Stockpiling and Use of Chemical Weapons and…

example:

in 2018, there are somewhere between 197-to-230 independent nations on planet Earth, hosting 95.5% of humans …. depending upon whom you believe 🙂  *
then there’s the corporate “owners” of newspapers in the USA, who tell  4.5% of humans what to and not to hear, think & believe

to actually hear what the rest of humanity thinks, start here
google “news from ___ newspapers”
and plug in, one by one, the names of all 197-230 nations
after you plow through at least one newspaper from 197 countries, you’ll never again look the same at what you read in US newspapers;
   yes, much of US news is rank corporate propaganda, telling us what to think;
but the bigger impact is simply how LITTLE of reality our corporate newspapers restrict us to
Expand your horizons.   Talk to your neighbors in other countries. Decide for  yourself what to think about and not think about.
Maybe consider cancelling subscriptions to every corporate-owned news service, and going back to sampling what independent journalists and citizens comment on.
* ps: there are ~5000 US military bases, ~800  in 70-80 foreign countries worldwide
but no foreign military bases on US soil 😦

“U.S. military personnel by country. The United States has active duty military troops stationed in nearly 150 countries. The table below details how many troops are in each country as of September 30, 2011, according to the U.S. Department of Defense.”U.S. military personnel by country – CNN.comwww.cnn.com/interactive/2012/04/us/table.military.troops/

The reference in the title to Who Fucked Aunty? Well the BBC is the worse it has been in my memory. MArr on Sunday was a Joke, I think David Davis’s Sick Bucket was some sort of Metaphor.

David Davis has sick bucket on hand during BBC interview

David Davis and Andrew Marr
When David Davis was being grilled on the Andrew Marr Show about negotiations with the EU, something else was spotted by sharp-eyed Sunday morning viewers.
On the floor beside the under-the-weather Brexit secretary was a strategically-placed bin, acting as a makeshift sick bucket.
Thankfully he managed to navigate the interview without resorting to it.
Introducing him, Marr said Mr Davis had “struggled here despite feeling most unwell this morning”.
“If the camera suddenly switches to you, the audience will know what’s happened,” Mr Davis replied.
On Twitter, the Marr show’s editor joked that the use of the bin showed “commendable concern for our studio floor and furniture”.
The Sun’s Tom Newton Dunn, who was due to appear on the BBC’s Sunday Politics, offered more details, saying the Brexit secretary was suffering from “extreme food poisoning”.
And it certainly didn’t escape the attention of eagle-eyed viewers.
Presentational white space
During the interview, Mr Davis said it was “incredibly probable” that the UK would reach a deal with the EU and compared contingency planning for a stalemate to having home insurance in case your house burns down.

JP MORGAN FOR ANALYSTS BULLSHIT///SHOULD READ "CUSP OF FINANCIAL CRISIS"

An old friend who I met many years ago through business and I regularly chat with on Skype and exchange links to information we both find of interest, as we try to figure out what the hell is going on. Sent this in dispatches.

This mornings Exchange.

JP MORGAN FOR ANALYSTS BULLSHIT///SHOULD READ “CUSP OF FINANCIAL CRISIS”

IS THIS A PROPER MANDATE FOR A CENTRAL BANK?
Mike, I have to say that this analysis, acute as it may be, is like reading OK magazine or Hello, it seems stuck in a hopelessly gossipy he said she said he did she didn’t narrative without examining why.
There is no attempt to ask let alone answer the Why? question.
The other article is very interesting although after all of the article the last sentence positing two species of Currency one for Market players and one for the plebs is precisely what we have now. We are living in the new age of the Robber Barons, this time though. The Robber Barons have a much tighter grip on the levels of civil society and civil society itself is wholly subservient to the International organs of Corporate Power. We are, I think, at the mercy of the Corporate Oligarchs who are still duking it out amongst themselves. What are the Factions? Silicon Valley in the corporate persons of Google/Facebook/Amazon is one, The Military Industrial Complex is another, Banking finance and so forth is another, Traditional Manufacturing is another, Energy is another  The traditional Old Money Aristocracy and nobility is another, The Media Traditional Printed and broadcast as distinct from Silicon Valley ( are they morphing) and all of them overlap but do have separate interests and philosophies.

That the Swiss Central Bank scored 8% of Swiss GDP last year as stated in the other article demonstrated how powerful a tool the Central bankers have, we have to ask are the commercial banks part and parcel of the same thing as the Central Banks and if so to what extent are they joined or separate? Politics at this stage is really just an arm of the Media complex I think.

Question WHo is the new James Wolfson? he was very visible before his retirement, Christine Lagarde does not in my view command the same respect? Strauss Khan who would have been doing that job and Also Sarkozy’s current troubles should be factored back into where the play is going. Merkel and May are both Lame Duck leaders whichever faction they support or factions must be worried certainly in the Uk the Cambridge Analytica, Skripal and also increased attacks of Corbyns character and leadership all point to a wish by the Brtish Establishment to jettison May and also kill Brexit.

Brexit and Trump taken together, Catalonia Italy and events in Turkey are all pointing to an unravelling of one strand of the Oligarchy’s factions, Tillerson’s and Mc Masters departures point to a defeat for the Pentagon or a faction within it. Traditionally in the UK military, there are rivalries between Famously the Airforce and the Army but older than that, of course, the Navy and The Army. A very big rivalry exists between Naval Aviators and Airforce aviators the same rivalries will exist in the Us military although I am less familiar with them.

At some stage of analysing the Markets, I think it is worth getting back to what AJP used to call the Guns or Butter question which used to be Swords or ploughshares in more ancient times. That is one question and then the second is usury and debt slavery and taxation. These two questions are the old questions of good or bad governments, see the Allegories of Good and bad government for details.

Long story short looking at markets for symptoms of something in the economy occurring is a dead art. The economy and the **Markets** are simply no longer connected and have not been for many years certainly longer than the 10 years since the Great Crash so-called Sub Prime crisis.

Karl Rove’s words from way back when need careful consideration in the context of this question.

´´The aide said that guys like me were “in what we call the reality-based community,” which he defined as people who “believe that solutions emerge from your judicious study of discernible reality.” I nodded and murmured something about enlightenment principles and empiricism. He cut me off. “That’s not the way the world really works anymore.” He continued “We’re an empire now, and when we act, we create our own reality. And while you’re studying that reality—judiciously, as you will—we’ll act again, creating other new realities, which you can study too, and that’s how things will sort out. We’re history’s actors … and you, all of you, will be left to just study what we do.”

WH Auden Then and Now "The Quest".

I had the notion, It takes a thief to catch a thief watching USAWatchdog presented by Greg Hunter today. Looking for a poem about such a notion the Gods of Google offered up the quest by WH Auden.

My own response to the Poem is very much in the grey space that Du Champs told us all about.
I wonder what others who read this Auden poem take away from it I read it as about now the attached PDF contextualises it into the body of Auden’s Work and the time it was written how similar the reactions of the readers of it back then might have been.

At Times Like These. Epictetus or Wittgenstien.

Showing the way out of the bottle, Wittgenstein or Epictetus?

In Such times as these John, I usually reach for the Enchiridion. Epictetus and his handy handbook reminds us all to Stick to our own knitting and do the right thing, eventually every one cottons on ( and it only takes 5% of us ( see Erica Chenoweth’s Work),
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Erica_Chenoweth

Their team identified over 200 violent revolutions and over 100 nonviolent campaigns. Twenty-six percent of the violent revolutions were successful, while 53 percent of the nonviolent campaigns succeeded. Moreover, looking at change in democracy (Polity IV scores) indicates that nonviolence promotes democracy while violence promotes tyranny.
In addition every campaign that got active participation from at least 3.5 percent of the population succeeded, and many succeeded with less. All the campaigns that achieved that threshold were nonviolent; no violent campaign achieved that threshold.[4]
the tipping point in an exponential is chaotic and not forecastable, we will know only in the rearview mirror that it has happened.
Where are we on the Curve? I suspect a good way along the steeper part with the Bureaucracy of the ELites very very worried. Hence the various crack downs and censorship initiatives ( they really are happening This Tommy Robinso Interview with Lord Pearson is very good google some of the cases.
1. Some things are in our control and others not. Things in our control are opinion, pursuit, desire, aversion, and, in a word, whatever are our own actions. Things not in our control are body, property, reputation, command, and, in one word, whatever are not our own actions.
The things in our control are by nature free, unrestrained, unhindered; but those not in our control are weak, slavish, restrained, belonging to others. Remember, then, that if you suppose that things which are slavish by nature are also free, and that what belongs to others is your own, then you will be hindered. You will lament, you will be disturbed, and you will find fault both with gods and men. But if you suppose that only to be your own which is your own, and what belongs to others such as it really is, then no one will ever compel you or restrain you. Further, you will find fault with no one or accuse no one. You will do nothing against your will. No one will hurt you, you will have no enemies, and you not be harmed.
Aiming therefore at such great things, remember that you must not allow yourself to be carried, even with a slight tendency, towards the attainment of lesser things. Instead, you must entirely quit some things and for the present postpone the rest. But if you would both have these great things, along with power and riches, then you will not gain even the latter, because you aim at the former too: but you will absolutely fail of the former, by which alone happiness and freedom are achieved.
Work, therefore to be able to say to every harsh appearance, “You are but an appearance, and not absolutely the thing you appear to be.” And then examine it by those rules which you have, and first, and chiefly, by this: whether it concerns the things which are in our own control, or those which are not; and, if it concerns anything not in our control, be prepared to say that it is nothing to you.
My Poem Bourgoise Resolution is about the 3.5% Rule I suspect way past 3.5% of people are what some people call awake. ( I like Free Thinking as you use the term by the way.)
The Change Equation,
Dannemiller version: D x V x F > R[edit]
Three factors must be present for meaningful organizational change to take place. These factors are:
D = Dissatisfaction with how things are now;
V = Vision of what is possible;
F = First, concrete steps that can be taken towards the vision;
If the product of these three factors is greater than
R = Resistance

You won’t — I really believe — get too much out of reading it. Because you won’t understand it; the content will seem strange to you. In reality, it isn’t strange to you, for the point is ethical. I once wanted to give a few words in the foreword which now actually are not in it, which, however, I’ll write to you now because they might be a key for you: I wanted to write that my work consists of two parts: of the one which is here, and of everything which I have not written. And precisely this second part is the important one.
